Railfanning in Hillsdale, MI

It is noon on Saturday June 7, 2007. Quiet are the premises of the Indiana Norteastern Railroad today. Hillsdale is located in Michigan (and not in Indiana, as the name of the railroad might suggest).

Beside some older freight cars also the MOW train of the Indiana Northeastern has its home at this place.

An old Streamliner and a caboose serve the needs of the crew.

Beside the line of hopper cars sits a string of locos which reached already the age for a museum:

Number 47 is a GP7 without dynamic brake. The missing ditch lights indicate a non active status of this engine. Actually AZL brought this engine as a model for Z scale:

This GP30 died some times ago - she is beeing cannibalised for spare parts for the rest of the fleet.

This CF7, numbered 1500, is in good condition and will be on duty after the end of the weekend.

GP9 1603 has a broken engine and is used as a source for spare parts. See the torpedo air reservours on top of the long hood. MTL offers a Z-scale model of this engine type, but with dynamic brakes.

"Chop Nose" GP9 1770 does also not wear ditch ligths but has already relecting tape at the sides.

One last view the MOW train with the unique crane car.
