The final Countdown - Dortmund we are coming!
Status end of March, 2004: test assembling in the kitchen, within 2 hours all segments are together -
and within one hour everything is cleaned up again.
End of March to the beginning of April finer work was to be
done: the motive power was serviced for the coming event.
All these engines received a DCC decoder:
Dortmund shall be a durability test for decoders too. DN142 from Digitrax are in both multi-unit F7's, the new version
of Zimo MX62 in engine 21, an old Arnold decoder in the Desert Hog, a Lenz LE011 in the heavy Mike 5, an "old" Zimo
MX62 in the blue steamer and in the well-know cap-packed steamer. All AZL are equipped with Uhlenbrock 73500 t.
The end-segments get their final touch. The turnouts are fixed and the wiring is completed.
Also the second tunnel entrance is build new in "concrete". Again the scale train checks clearances.
The concrete has settled and the vegetation has grown up again on top of the hill.As one of the last works a few
cars get a coat of paint.
The second last day in front of the largest challenge of the RRR, everything needs to be stored. The two canister
shall join the layout, they will get an important assignment.
The crew of the Red Rock Railroad is excited to present
Lonesome Dove to a larger audience!
